Universal Principles of Islamic Bioethics

This study tackles two of the most important topics from an Islamic and human perspective. The first subject is medicine, which centers on human beings and the appropriate methods to maintain their physical and mental health, perserve progeny and provide the suitable treatment. Fulfilling this objective necessarily contributes to protecting property and wealth. Actually, both medicine and religion provide healing and mercy; however, religion is distinguished by a broader and more inclusive share of such mercy and healing. The Quran reads: "We send down the Quran as healing and mercy to those who believe" (Surat Al-Isra, 17:82).
